AERIAL IRRIGATION PIVOT WATERING PERFORMANCE MAPPING

This aerial image of alfalfa that was acquired on Aug 8, 2002 in western Nebraska is an example of the hard copy print (comes with digital CD, too) that you would get from participating in this program. It was delivered the morning of the sixth day after it was acquired.

Crop consultants and growers can use the specially processed aerial photo as a tool to calculate the economic impact of uneven watering based on the crop's response. And, as a guide on where to make ground based yield estimate differences between good and bad areas of the field. The map helps to define the boundaries of these areas, and the number of acres involved.

Feel free to send us an email requesting the educational bulletin on how to interpret these images, and how to calculate the economic impact of uneven watering based on crop response. You may also click here for more information and examples of our aerial program.
